Postdoctoral Opportunities
The Membrane Protein Research Group offers excellent possibilities for postdoctoral research. As a research focus group, the Membrane Protein Research Group provides an intensive, collaborative environment for research in membrane phenomena at the molecular level. Individual investigators in the group are well funded, providing state of the art facilities for your research.
The setting of the Membrane Protein Research Group, within the Faculty of Medicine, also provides one of the country's largest and best-funded research institutions. Support for fellowships may come from either investigators' research grants or from granting agencies (Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, Heart and Stroke Foundation, etc.).
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research Fellowship Award has a stipend of $38,000 per year with a Research Allowance of $3,500. The Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research Fellowship Award also has a $3,000 annual research allowance to fund trips to meetings, journal subscriptions, or your move to Edmonton.
For more information, contact one of the investigators in the Membrane Protein Research Group, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research or the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research.
You might also want to contact one of the postdoctoral fellows already in the Group. You can find them listed in the Group Directory.
